Action Committee

Purpose:

 

To create organized and professional direct actions that draw attention to and expound many of the dis-eases that our current system has knowingly or unknowingly created. Thus, instilling a re-emergence of civic duty and responsible citizenry.

●      Major actions will fall directly in line with the current issues that are being focused on as a whole in Occupy Medford, working closely with Outreach and Education Committees

●      Other actions proposed will be taken up if passed by GA, including bake sales and community volunteering

 

Objectives:

 

●      Educating ourselves and public raising awareness of issues

●      Recruit support for Occupy Movement at all levels including GA, involvement with actions, Spring Awakening Project, etc, etc.

●      Foster creativity and unity in community through reaching out to citizens

●      Draw attention to positive and negative things happening in our community

●      Put our numbers together to help city complete projects more quickly

●      Instill through actions, whether public speaking or picketing, a voice of and by the people

●      In order to keep moral high, having fun!

●      Work with Finance Committee to orchestrate revenue building actions, including bake sales, car washes and donation drives.

 

Action By-Laws:

 

●      Proposals will be passed on a 9/10 ratio or greater

●      All receipts shall be promptly handed over to Finance Committee, in order to maintain transparency

●      There shall be at least 3 people on Action Committee including POC, at any given time

●      There shall be at least one Action Committee member present at any given general assembly and committee meeting

●      If POC cannot make it to GA they must arrange for another committee member to give committee report

 

Point Of Contact:

 

●      The official POC for Action Committee must be voted in with 90% consensus by General Assembly and can be voted out of position via proposal at General Assembly.

●      POC must utilize individuals on committee and assign responsibilities accordingly.

●      Utilize Outreach Committee and notify of press release, website updates, etc
